Took a chance on this Samsung and ordered it without a lot of information availabe because it is so new but glad I did. Just got it out of the box today and everything works great. Easily set up the wireless to my home network (and it saved the IP address and encryption key info so I do not need to sign on each time).
There are few units (if any) with all the features this unit offers at this price.
This unit offers solid access to You Tube, various videos on demand services, Pandora (love Pandora!), and it sees all my videos and photos on my computer in multiple ways (with their Samsung PC Share Manager and direct acess) all through the network. The pics load a little slow, but the files are big. Pretty sure if I reduce them down access will speed up. Read more...
ANOTHER CRASHED LG BD300 – No Service – do not buy – P. Smargiassi – Woodinville, WA USA I bought this player in Dec. 2008. Through the year it started dropping the network connection. It got worst and worst until it would not work with Netflix or youtube. Now the DVD player is broke. SO IT IS A BOAT ANCHOR. The Warranty is a joke. WARRANTY Limited Warranty 1 Year Parts/90 Days Labor Even if it was longer, LG service does not respond. Read more...
UPDATE AS OF 11/25/09: I have experienced the random FREEZES that others have reported to plague this player. The player will freeze and then resume after 5-6 seconds. Very annoying.
UPDATE AS OF 8/18/09: This player is definitely growing on me. The Audio Quality from the Burr Browns is nothing short of top-notch. Powered off Eject times dropped by nearly 5 seconds to a reasonable 13 seconds w/ FW update done easily over net. My recommendation is to use NR setting of 3 for DVDs (it is not available on BDs thankfully). I would say DVD upconversion is identical to the Oppo 99% of the time in realworld use with a reasonable sized display – 50″ in my case. YMMV. Really like this player, but I stand by my comments re pricing – needs to be 0 at a maximum to compete. Read more...

In this video we look at a Home Theater in a Box that combines a Blu-ray Disc player with 1000 watts of power distributed to a 5.1 speaker system: 4 satellites, a center, and a subwoofer.
I have owned this player for sometime now and I am so impressed with the picture everytime I watch a new Blu Ray through it. I have owned several different players now (LG, Samsung, Panasonic), but none have wow’d me the way this players picture has. Ofcoarse with Blu Ray your are deeling with a far superior picture to DVD to begin with, but my experience with the players that I have owned has never been quit what this player is able to produce. The closest example I would have would be the BH200, an LG Combo (HD DVD and Blu Ray# player that had an original price tag of 00 when it was first introduced. The LG however does not offer Bitstreem capability for Dolby Tru HD and DTS Lostless, even though there has been updates for the player that claim so. The Denon does have this capability, and above all, it’s picture can’t be beat. If you are looking for a player that has all the latest features #i.e. Netflix, Pandora, BD Live# this is not the player for you. I have what I need of those features currently through my xBox 360, so I was truely just looking for a great standalone BD player. So, if you just need a player to play Blu Ray’s great, with a picture that is far supperior to the competetion and can handle the patience required for load times #they are slow, this is the only draw back to the player#, I highly recommend giving this player a look.
