Twitter.com – Follow Us! Inception is currently available on DVD and Blu-Ray. Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Cillian Murphy, Marion Cotillard, Ken Watanabe, Michael Caine, Tom Hardy Acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan directs an international cast in an original sci-fi actioner that travels around the globe and into the intimate and infinite world of dreams. Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb’s rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible-inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming. Here we have a comparison of Terry Gilliam’s ‘Twelve Monkeys’ on LaserDisc & DVD The DVD player is a low end generic player connected via scart. The LaserDisc player is a Pioneer mid-range machine connected via composite. The TV is a Sony Bravia 40″ LCD The video was shot in HD with a Canon VIxia HF200 In my opinion, the LaserDisc wins in this particular experiment. Regarding resolution, they appear very similar. There are obvious differences in the colours and tones with positives and negatives for both formats. There really is no comparison on sound, the LaserDisc wins by a mile. I will be doing a second video with a higher spec DVD player soon which may have a beg effect on these results, but for now LaserDIsc is King! Another Blu-Ray exclusive available on HD DVD in Germany, along with Silent Hill and Resident Evil 1 and 2. I’ve never seen this, but it looks really shitty. Part 2 looks much better but with its short run time I can imagine it sucking too.Note: HD DVD is region free, thus discs from *any* region in the world can play on your player!
