I have an “old school” component video input high-definition television along with coaxial audio input to my receiver which supports DTS audio. It was great stuff back in 1999 when I bought it. I found this product at a great price, I think, and it fit my needs perfectly. Now I get high-definition picture quality along with DTS sound through my receiver. A very nice solution to keep me from having to upgrade my whole audio-visual set-up to current HDMI format.
There are two negatives to report. One, it makes a humming noise while it is running the disc. Two, it takes a minute to open the disc deck when you hit the eject button. OK it feels like a minute, but it’s probably about 30 seconds. Solution one, watch action movies with plenty of audio and you won’t notice the background hum.
