Blu – ray (also known as Blu-ray) high-definition players are not consistent worldwide. In fact, a Blu – Ray Disc one of the three regions in general, will not play on all players in the other two regions.

What are these regions and what are they? See below.

But is there such thing as a multi-region Blu Ray – and if so, you need a special Multisystem TV?

Yes, multiregion BLU – RAY> Player still exist and do not need no TV PAL, NTSC, are the BluRay movies. Each working group of TV with HDMI input will work.

BLU – RAY regions A and B and C and DVD regions 1 and 2008 2 is available on 1 March.

What are Blu – ray region code "?" Country Code "?" Zones "? And are you and me?

Hollywood producers want the house to control the release of films in different countries because theater releasesoften on different dates in the global launch of the film.
A film can reach Blu – Ray Disc in USA if only in Europe show some BLU prevent various regions of the world, in shops – Ray movies before they are published in the wine, so the box office sales of these films and of course the end of Blu – Ray DVD release, this film are devices created to stop watching TV and the newFilms.

But keep in mind:
If you are a Blu – Ray film HMDI cable to an HMDI TV of any standard (PAL, NTSC, SECAMetc) for a picture perfect as Blu – Ray and HDMI, etc, have abolished the traditional Video Standards like PAL, NTSC
REGION C lock on them, if you are a hard C BLU – RAY region to play in all Blu – Ray from around the world as it does not exist.
So Blu – Ray region free for regions A and B or Blu Ray – that is multi-play all Region C Blu – Ray DVD on any TV with HDMI input.
Miracle under the age of order with the video standards do not comply with the agreement reached. a multi-region (also known as multi-region, the region number, etc.) Players can view all Blu – Ray movies on any TV HDMI on the ground with only regions A and B are not compatible.

To be confusing however please note:
If your TV does not have an HDMI input, then stood still need a PAL-NTSC TV or video converter standards> Blu – Ray through RCA or S-video output.

3 regions (also called sites or areas) have been defined, and each is the number. Players and discs are often characterized by its region with the world number one, overlapping. If a disc has more than one region is more than a number in the world.

I got this Momitsu Blu-ray player solely because I need a Region A or multi-region player to watch locked Criterion Blu-ray discs in the U.K.. This player has the advantage over straight US Blu-ray players in that it doesn’t need a step-down converter (the current is a variable 110V to 240V): it only needs a travel adaptor to convert the 2-pin U.S. plug into a U.K. or Euro fitting.

First off, image-wise the 799 excels in providing a clear, superbly detailed picture. Of course, it helps that I’m watching fantastic Criterion Blu-ray transfers. But it is apparant that the Momitsu can handle motion exceptionally well, which is after all a stumbling block for many -more expensive, bigger-name- Blu-ray players.

The menus for the 799 are generally comprehensive. There is the expected 24fps Film Mode, as well as options for BD Live connectivity. However, the big stumbling block with the setup menus is that they cannot be accesssed during playback, and, at least in the case of Criterion BDs, the film doesn’t have a Resume function if you stop the film and delve into the setup menu. After using a Pioneer Blu-ray player, all this seems very messy.
However, the biggest drawback with the Momitsu 799 is that huge amount of noise kicked out by the unit. It is so noisy that it necessitates listening through headphones. Although this is a considerable design flaw, and one that has been rightly pointed out by numerous reviewers, I don’t find it overly bothersome because I like listening to the TV with headphones anyway.

The Momitsu is a good, compact, variable current Blu-ray player. If you can live with the huge amount of noise the unit produces, then it will be a good hi-def friend. But that is a big “if”.

Versatile with great visuals! – James N Udden –
I bought this item becasue I am a film scholar with discs from all over the world. What amazed me is not just how I can get it to play everything for my research, but also the actual results with my plasma TV. It even allows a truel Academy Ratio for older films if I use the pillarboxed setting. I had heard rumors about it having a bad shirring sound. Apparently that is no longer the case. I hear nothing from the machine itself.

Better PQ than my Panasonic BD player! – Ian Nicholas – Los Angeles, CA
Yes, the player makes some noise when it’s playing. But it’s not enough to stop me from enjoying the results! The picture quality from this little machine is fantastic: even better than the PQ on my Panasonic BD35, which surprised me. But the real reason why I bought this player was to be able to play Region2 SDVD’s and Region B Blu-Ray discs, which it does just fine. The hack is an easy one, performed with the remote control, and if this is going to be your dedicated Region-B player, you only need to do it once and then you can forget about it. If you want to switch back and forth between regions, that’s easily doable as well, but you need to re-apply the hack before switching to a new region’s disk. Great player, killer value.

Player is Too Noisy – Mark Colangelo – Los Angeles
I wanted a multi-region player, specifically the Momitsu BDP-899 because of the rave review it received at [...]. However, that unit was sold out. In its place Momitsu offered the BDP-799, a new pared down model, which I then ordered.

I had this player for only a day before I returned it. The first time I played a DVD I heard a constant high-pitched whirring or ringing noise coming from the player. It reminded me of the sound a cicada insect makes during the hot afternoons in Summertime. It’s really noticeable during the quiet moments of a movie. Even in a cabinet with the glass door shut I could still hear it. I found it really annoying, and couldn’t deal with it after awhile. Maybe I have sensitive ears, and for some people perhaps this isn’t such a deal breaker, but I’d rather just get another player. The remote was also awkward.

The shame of it is that the picture quality was excellent, especially when it upscaled standard DVDs. I liked design and compact size of the player, too. I never got to test its multi-region capabilities, so I can’t comment on that. I hear that the Momitsu BDP-899 is a quieter player, and does not have the same noisy problem that the 799 has. I would say if you want a region free player, to pay a little more and get the 899, if you can find it.

The player works as advertised. It’s loads very quickly even for BD disks with a lot of pre loading content. I have mine hooked up to an Onkyo NX900 via the analog 7.1 out, which works like a charm. The only unfortunate thing is that the player does not engage the rear speakers with a 5.1 source. This means that for regular DVD’s only the front and side speakers are producing sound. This is somewhat disappointing for a high end player, for instance Onkyo does actually add the rear speakers to duplicate the sound from the side speakers (Matrixed). I was surprised to learn that this was the case with the Oppo and that it cannot be changed.
I have not had a chance to check out the multi region capabilities but I am sure that will work as advertised as well.
